Chemical peels target a wide variety of skin concerns at once. Typically recommended for active acne, acne scarring, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, stubborn pigment left behind from laser treatments, and fine lines, chemical peels can target a multitude of concerns in as little as 30 minutes. A series of treatments are recommended to achieve desired results, and a maintenance plan will be necessary to maintain long lasting effects. A treatment plan will be constructed during your consultation to optimize individual results based on your skin health.
Downtime typically takes anywhere from 3-7 days and depending on the depth of the peel and chemical agents used, could experience dryness, light flaking, or layered peeling.
Skin may be pink, red, or even orange immediately after treatment! Don’t worry, these effects are temporary and usually last anywhere from 1-4 hours.
It is important to use the take-home products provided at the time of your treatment and to follow your post care instructions given to you by your medical aesthetician closely. Do not pick, scrub, or pull at dry skin for 7 days after a chemical peel has been applied to the skin.
